Everyone deserves a safe, private place to explore and understand their microbiome. At myBioma we give you control over your data! We designed myBioma and the myBioma analysis with the utmost respect for privacy. We think it's important that you understand how we handle your data.
Below is an overview of the information we collect, how it is used and when it is shared.
We collect the following information
When you use our platform, we collect personal information, such as your name, email address, and web behavior information (for example, your IP address). The stool sample and survey answers you provide us with give us genetic and lifestyle information.
How we store your data
Your personal data will be stored in a high security data center directly in Vienna. Your personal information will be assigned an identification number for identification and customer service.
How we treat your research data confidentially
Your genetic and lifestyle information will be freed from any personal identification information and transferred to our research environment, where it will be stored with your survey data. These data are collected exclusively to make them available to science and to further develop our own algorithms.
myBioma uses industry-standard security measures to encrypt sensitive personal data at-rest. By default, myBioma also uses HTTPS to encrypt all data during transmission.
myBioma believes that genetic information and the systems used to protect your data deserve maximum security. Therefore, myBioma uses software, hardware and physical security measures to protect the computers that store customer data. We use robust authentication methods to access our systems.
It is important to note that myBioma cannot protect your data if you share it with others. In addition, despite the application of the most up-to-date technical and industry-specific data protection guidelines, it is never possible to provide a complete guarantee against security breaches.
